Researching Of The Personal Multimedia Service System Based On The Wireless LAN

At present, Internet technology has been developed remarkbly, at the same time, Wireless LAN(WLAN)technology which is used as Internet access network technology has been widely applied in family network, corporation network and public hotspot. But the application of WLAN is just limited as a method of Internet access, along with increasing of WLAN's user number and depth of understanding in WLAN technology, more and more additional applications are needed to offer to users. To solve this problem, the WLAN multimedia service system is researched and developed; This system can offer Streaming service, VOIP service, Datacasting service and Location service in use of WLAN technology characteritics. During the period of research and development, The effective location system is studied deeply, and three methods of location technology are applied and tested.This paper introduces the WLAN protocol, the 802.11 standard series, and the key technology of 802.11 standard; then it introduces the characters of all the services which are applied in the system, the last part includes the structure of client software, structure of sourcecode, and the result of system testing in WLAN location system.
