Motion target tracking technology in digital video has already been applied to the field of traffic safety, video compress and medical science studies, e c t, therefore, it will be a new subject with gigantic practical value. Accurate and real time tracking in bigger areas is needed in the predictable future, and because of the complexity in the real circumstances, there would been many video noise in video record, which will increase the difficulty in video tracking processing. Hence motion target tracking technology is of great significance in both modernization in national defense and economy.The direction sensibility of anisotropic LOG operator is discovered when we study the video processing technology, then we use the operator in image edge detecting. At the same time, considering the comparability between motion in video and edge in image, a new motion energy difference model is built by us after research on motion target tracking. Then, we make particular mathematics analysis and the preference strategy. At last, we improve the robustness and real time ability of the algorithm, and make some experiment.Innovations in this disquisition are as below:1. The anisotropic LOG operator is used in image edge detecting.2. The operator is used in motion detection model which is built in this thesis, and a new algorithm was designed according to the model.
