Digital controlled 3D profile scanning system is well implemented in high-resolution manufacture. It is also an interdisciplinary hotspot of optics, mechanics, circuit-design and computer technology. Meanwhile, with the rapid development of information science and digital technique, embedded system based on digital signal processor has provided effective platform for further improvement of 3D scanning's resolution and reliability. By implementing Texas Instrument's digital signal processor (TMS320F2812), this paper developed specific hardware and software for 3D profile scanning system and studied corresponding theory and key aspects.By comparing and analyzing similar products, this paper raised a design proposal of embedded 3D profile scanning system based on DSP. After detailed introduction of hardware recourse, it provided research about software framework, multitasking, relevancy between real-time operations and uniform time base and the capsulation of peripheral drivers. In order to upgrade the resolution, it also implemented specific digital filtering procedure to eliminate noise in sampling. Besides, sample data communication and host debugging application were successfully developed thanks to serial communication protocol for file transportation and system debugging. At last, hardware/software testing records were provided for further development, which would benefit the reliability of future application.To sum up, our 3D profile scanning system passed every specific test. All the testing result satisfied intending specifications. It provided a solid platform for practical applications.
