Membrane computing is theoretic model of distributed parallel computation which are initiated from some features of living cells. In a membrane computing system, the multiset of objects evolves according to the reaction rules associated with the membrane and applied in a maximally parallel, nondeterministic manner. On the base of membrane systems, people attempt to incorporate the idea of spiking neurons into the area of membrane computing, and get a new class of systems called spiking neuron P systems. In this paper, my main work is researching on spiking neuron P systems. My main research topics are as follows:Firstly, one aspect of this paper is an attempt to improve Spiking neuron P systems to make it closer to the actual biologic principle, then we get new computing models. There are two aspects of improvement: According to the principle that a neuron will get different responses by accepting different amount of spikes, then we get a new kind of systems called SN P systems with values, and according to neuron's two kinds of responses we get SN P systems with polarity. Also we simulate the register machine by these new systems.Secondly, on the basis of the foundation of the model of membrane automata, we found the model of spiking neuron P automata by improving the model of mealy multiset automata. The foundations of these kinds of membrane automata means that the connection between these membrane systems and the the traditional automata is set up. This is useful to reseach the power of these systems.
