Design And Implementation Of Wireless Distribution System In Home Network

The intelligent electric appliances have been produced and have joined in the social lives with the integration trend of the consumer electronics, computer and the communication. Consequentially, the family network technology is progressing constantly.The residential media gateway is the core part of the whole home network. It provides integrate voices, data and media information and also the functions of control and administration by connecting various information terminations. The information can be shared and transmitted absolutely among the residential interior terminations and the internet. Among the several residential media gateways, the resources can be shared by the wired network or the wireless local area network. But the wireless local area network is more convenient to extend owing to its performance compared to the complex wired local network. So, it is widely used.Based on the advantages of the wireless local area network, this thesis introduces a wireless distribution system to implement the interconnection of the residential media gateways. Firstly, this thesis introduces the applications of the residential media network together with the relative protocols and technologies. And then, it analyses several methods of implementation the wireless distribution system in the wireless local area network in details. According to some common implementations of the wireless distribution system such as the point-to-point mode, the point-to-multipoint bridge mode and the point-to-multipoint repeater mode, this thesis designs a one point to multi-point auto wireless distribution system mode which is implemented by the auto detection of the gateway and describes the implementation of the system in details. Meanwhile, this thesis implements the auto configuration of network parameter in the connection the residential media gateway based on the wireless distribution system. At last, this thesis puts forward a network topology architecture which is use to test the function of the residential media gateway. The test results indicate that this wireless distribution system designed by this thesis can interconnect the interior networks and the exterior public network. It is satisfactory.This implementation is versatile, manageable and stable. It could be used by similar systems as reference.
