Based on light interference theory and two single-mode fibers used as the two arms of Mach-Zehnder (MZ) optical fiber interferometer, an optical fiber vibrant sensor, which can be used in the field of surroundings safe inspection, has been developed in this thesis. By the nature of modulated Laser diode and the technology of linear modulated heterodyne intervene, the sensor realized the function of detecting intervene singles. The new sensing application is quiet different from traditional structure of MZ optical fiber interferometer.The basic principles and composes of the new MZ optical fiber interferometer were discussed and analyzed, and how intervene singles deformed was introduced as well.After designing and making the driving circuit, testing the circuit plate, connecting the optical circuit, sealing and fixing the components, The MZ fiber optical vibrant sensor based on a lot of theoretical analysis was made and a test platform of the detection system was built up. In order to save interference waves at different disturbance conditions, a numeric storage oscilloscope with storage capabilities was used in the experiments. By running simple acquisition program developed with the help of the effective integration of LabVIEW and PCI6024E acquisition card, the monitoring disturbances online was realized.Based on the observation in time domain and comparative analysis of frequency spectrums, the results of the experiments showed that the MZ optical fiber vibrant detection system has achieved the requirement of design and the feasibility of the system used in the safe defending was proved.
