Key technologies and secondary development of preprocessor and postprocessor based on finite element method are researched. The research includes geometry model- transforming model between CAD and CAE software and parametric modeling; automatic mesh generation - meshing, repairing, modeling and meshing integration; development and integration of solvers; secondary development of postprocessor. At first, theory of finite element method, development platform and key technology of preprocessor and postprocessor are introduced. Importing model from CAD software and modeling in CAE software directly are popular methods, so main steps and implementation process of modeling are presented according to two cases, one is interface between Tribon and PATRAN, and another is automatic modeling of revolving body based on Gambit. Algorithm and implementation of parametric modeling and automatic mesh generation integration are provided by taking lift computation system of hydrofoil as example. And then preprocessing and solver integration development are introduced as key technology based on finite element method, and lift solving theory of hydrofoil and realization process are presented. Realization method of postprocessor is presented respectively according to lift solving result of hydrofoil and computation result of revolving body. The results show that the time cost of modeling repeatedly and mistakes of modeling by hand are reduced. Not only customized solvers but also common finite element solvers are integrated on this platform based on secondary development of solver. Not only common contour and vectors diagram but also customized and expand post-processing function are satisfied according to special objects.
