Sediment phenomenon in the port is widespread in the world. Because it has direct impacts on the navigation safety and shipping efficiency,many concerned countries have been attached great importance on it, and carried out a variety of prediction theories for sediment and scene monitoring technology researchs. This topic relies on an actual project which is the timely monitoring system technology researching of a port channel water depth. The main research content of this topic is the designs and implementations of water depth signal processing algorithm and data monitoring centre.The water depth data obtained from the monitoring system terminal is just the original data.Because it is not the final needed water depth value, finding a suitable algorithm for calculating the value of water depth is one of the most important works of this topic.By the channel characteristics of water acoustic communication, to the narrow channel, we know that the transmission of water acoustic waves must exist the multi-path phenomena. And when acoustic waves spread in different path, their path length are different, the arriving acoustic waves energy and time are not the same,so when calculating the value of water depth of the multipath signals,we must consider the problems associated with signal delay.On the basis of the monitoring principle of the whole system,and after analysising the transmitting and receiving water depth signals characteristics of the monitoring system, we use WRELAX (Weighted Fourier Transform and Relaxation Based Algorithm) algorithm to calculate the separation point of direct wave from the reflected wave mixed wave in water depth signal, and calculate the water depth value with the specific measuring method.Data monitoring centre is a very important component of the entire monitoring system.It is 24-hour continuous operation, and is a communication bridge between management and site monitoring terminal. The data monitoring centre is composed of three parts, the data communications, the PC data processing, and the WEB applications programs.The work of the data communication is major to design a reliable wireless communication protocols, write the consummate data transceiver programs,and transmit the original data gained by the lower machine to the above data processing server by the VHF wireless transmission modules. The PC data processing is mainly to analysis the original value of water depth data ,and display the actual water depth value calculated by measuring method in the PC.The WEB services is mainly to construct the server platform,to establish the database,and write the WEB applications program.It can makes the clients who can connect with the internet at any place to browse the scene site of the port channel at any moment.We simulated the port field conditions in the school's port basina to experimented the monitoring system, and carried out a series of experimental tests under the variety of conditions of different distances and heights between the receuving transducer and the sending transducer. We analysised and processed the experimental datas using the water depth arithmetic,then calculated the water depth numerical value under the each testing condition,and compared and verified the experimental results and analysised the error,and validated the performance target of the system scheme.
