Dry hollow reactor is an inductive device of the electrical power system, which has important roles in many respects such as current limiter, regulator, reactive compensation, and so on Dry Hollow Reactor is one of the new type reactors which was developed in recent years. With the advantages as other electrics, such as high mechanical strength, good linear characteristics, low loss and noise, stable parameters, good fireproofing performance, and so on, it is gradually replacing the traditional liquid-immersed reactor.Therefore, as for the design problem of the dry hollow reactor on calculating method has been widely concerned.Daring the process of designing the dry hollow reactor, the very important task of designing the dry hollow reactor is calculating the inductance values with high speed and accuracy. Here the paper concentrates on studying the calculation of coil inductance. The coil inductance depends on the important physics parameters of many relevance structure parameters, such as the coil structure, the dimension, conducting wire twining way and the like. Also it has the nonlinearity relation with its structure and dimension. Therefore during the period of calculating the inductance value, it is necessary to consider the effect to these factors.At present, there are many ways for calculating the inductance values. For example, induction coefficient method, energy transformation, graphical method, simulation, finite element method, and so on. This text include experience calculat method ,insert the method, numerical integral calculus method ,cent segment and analysis etc. Different structural inductance inclute conductor,loop,annulus, coil...etc makes the calculation through these methods.The study of calculating the inductance of various structures such as the coaxial , different axis , solenoid , flat surface coil has carried out. It is proofed that: the analytic is suitable of inductance of coil. It has the notable characteristics of high accuracy and speed.By calculating the analysis of the self-induction and mutual inductance under various conditions, this paper uses Turbo C as its programming language to have developed the coil inductance computer-aid analysis software which makes use of the analytic method, and it has made the procedures on to striking the different types of coil inductance. In the calculation of the mutual inductance. also concerns the insulation correction, so its accuracy has been further improved. The birth of the software achieves the best and most accurate coil inductance calculation of various structures which has provided the supportive work for the enterprise of the mistake bid designs and analyses of the coil inductance.
