Modeling And Calculating RCS Of Satellites Targets

The research on 3D objects about target scattering characteristic is the basic for the military objectives of the stealth and anti-stealth, radar targets identification and other applications. But the scattering characteristics testing are influence by lots of things, such as the testing conditions, the environment, polarization, target profile and positioning precision. So the calculation of the RCS theoretical modeling and analysis has become convenient, efficient and accurate research tools.Algorithm theoretical derivation and feasibility of methods study are the first step to whether these can be application. This paper studies the current algorithms and gives the theoretical derivation processing about MoM, PO and the hybrid algorithm of MoM and PO; In order to prove the feasibility of the method. We studies different types of simple objects as well as different methods to calculate the RCS results, these can give us some pieces of advice on how to calculate complex structure satellites.Satellites modeling are very important. Modeling methods will directly affect the accuracy of RCS. In this paper, we use automatic mesh and manual subdivision combination to mesh the model grids, especially to different structures; this is the key step to calculate the model. This tasks use FEMAP completed.Many satellites have cavity structures; they will directly affect the RCS calculation accuracy. In the paper, a systematic study on calculating different types of cavity and give the corresponding calculation methods. Finally, the satellite models are built, we calculate the satellites'RCS in different frequencies and attitudes, and then we discuss how much the different structures affect the satellites'RCS .this will be useful to the next step simplified modelsWe can know the satellites'echo features through the study. It can help us study more target scattering characteristic about satellites, as well as any other Large, complex targets.
