The measurement based on machine vision is characteristic with rapid, high precision and flexibility. It has been studied and applied widely at home and abroad. With the development of production and the progress of science and technology, the gear drive performance demands ceaseless improvement, the profile also in design and study and people have been done a lot of work. But there are a lot of problems in the measurement about the profile; such as precion and efficiency. The thisis achieved the non-contackted measurement for special spur gear by the Image Measurement Technology based CCD.The paper takes six chapters to discuss in details the implementation thoughts and methods of the vision detection system of peculiar profile of gear. The domestic and overseas development of the development of gear and machine vision, manufacturing application and the application in gear measurement about machine vision, together with the main work of this paper, is presented in the Chapter One.Chapter Two introdues the performance parameters of hardware part. All the parts of the Machine vision system, including the camera, the lens, the illumination and the frame grabber, are chose and assembled. The flow chart of the software for the machine vision system is given .Designed an analytical software that has friendly interface under the environment of Visual C++6.0, which uses message mapping method to correspond different image processing algorithm. So Chapter Three mostly introuduces image processing. The vision system composed of a CCD camera, an image collecting card and a personal computer. The system acquired the no reflecting image capture, sends it to the computer to process .The processing consists of noise filtering, image enhancement, edge detection. In Chapter Four, camera calibration based on the pin-hole camera model is completed with the help of the Open CV library. Using the camera intrinsic parameter, the image rectification transforms the image to compensate lens distortion. In Chapter five, we established the part recongtion function to accomplish image matching. Chapter six makes a summary of the major research work and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of this system.In order to validate all algorithms above, the experiments are performed. The experiment shows that the system meets the needs of this thesis.The theory research in this paper provides the reference for the research and application in image measurement technology field. The non-contacted measuring system based CCD has certain value in practical application.
