With the quick development of the computer technology, unbalances concerning the development speeds between CPU and storage devices are more and more obvious. It is more and more difficult for processors to function sufficiently. To solve this problem, Cache is applied in the system. Under some circumstances, the promotion of Cache is more available for receive effective system characteristics than that of the promotion of processors. So, one of the objectives the designers are pursuing is to take proper measures and make full use of Cache. However, under the current condition, it is a knotty problem on how to test the designer's program. The dissertation offers device for solving the problem effectively, and it is to simulate hardware with corresponding software.The research realizes the arrangement mechanism of Cache in Linux by software simulation. This method can predict the feasibility of any scheme and reduce both the cost and the time of developing it under a limited condition. As realizing the system, considering the similarities between Cache and figure teams in their arrangement, Cache is simulated by the use of figure teams in its entirety, that is, to simulate the process of Cache in Linux as a process of operations of figure teams. As the superiority of the arrangement and design of Cache is represented by the shooting of Cache and the ratio of the effective Cache, a huge number of data are required. In the system design, the test data required would be rendered by the user and obtained by generating automatically the random function concerning parameter and dividing equally to acquire addresses about the operating memory area. Moreover, factors that could influence the characteristics of Cache, such as addresses representation scheme and interchange tactics, are given full consideration. Test data are provided in connection with various schemes, so the superiority of the arrangement tactics comes out through comparisons.The dissertation specifies the system structure, the functions of the main constituents and concerning solutions. The application testified that the test data the system rendered accord with the warrant that the regular pattern that the locality principle of Cache design and the result of the whole system operation is consistent with the Linux design. The anticipated design subjective is attained. So, the system can provide conductive scheme both for research concerning Cache and the similar research.
