MANET(Mobile Ad hoc Network),also known as self-organized mobile network, is a new type of wireless communication network, which can working without any existing network infrastructure and provide mobile communication quickly, anytime and anywhere. It has a distributed configuration and is able to against destruction. Applications of MANET are getting widely used and research on it has already became an important direction in mobile communication technology. But, due to some of its characteristics such as openness of wireless links, frequently changes in network topology, difficult to detect and isolate misbehaving nodes, MANET can be attacked easily by a lot of means. Consequently, the issues about designing a security routing protocol become an urgent requirement. In this paper, firstly we introduced the base conceptions, status of development, wireless routing protocols and it's classification of MANET. Then introduced security problems existing in MANET primarily, and analyzed security goals about actualizing MANET, studied the means of possible attacks in MANET routing protocols such as wiretapping juggle counterfeit, interruption, etc. We studied existing security routing protocols thoroughly, and compared several kinds of routing protocols merits and shortages. Based on these successes, a new security routing protocol, a Security On-demand Certificate Anonymous routing Protocol (SOCAP) is proposed. This protocol combined some basic techniques of AODV protocol and DSR protocol and need no on-line Certification Authority support. Finally, we simulated this protocol by using NS-2 network simulator. The results show that the security of this new routing protocol is improved without losing too much performance.
