Reliable Multicast Technology Research And Application Based On Cable TV Network

With the the number of network users and the demand for multimedia information increacing , people have paid more attention on the use of multicast technology, and Cable Television Network is naturally the content distribution broadcast network, and our country's "covered by" project have furthered the acceleration of the prevalance of CATV network, and the resources on TV network continue to increase,it make the use of one-way broadcasting network attracted many experts and runners's concern. The data application business on cable network has become increasingly widespread, more mature applications such as distance education, file downloads and so on. Reliable multicast technology based on CATV network have been a hot study field in current research.Reliable Multicast is a most effective solution when used in distributions of documents and video content while there is a large number of potential clients.At first the paper covers the recently research in domestic and on abroad on the subject of reliable multicast technology and its application. By integrating the specific attributes of Cable Televetion Network compared to Internet through comparison and analysis of recent research ,have advanced a reliable multicast proposal which is used in large scale content distribution applied to viedeos with the CATV network environment: .It mainly use ALC / UDP / IP as a transport layer / network layer protocol which located under the RTP layer, server and the player . This stratege compromise the way between reliable multicast file transmission and stream transmition ,and this method has greatly benefited from Asynchronous Layered Coding protocol ,achieve a large scalability and strong error recovery capability.In CATV enviroment ,we use several reliability assurance technologies: Forward Error Correction coding, the Wave and Equation Based Rate Contorl congestion control and CRC32 checkout. The use of these strateges can guarantee the video quality and the integrity of video content , even if the client with the worst receiving capacity can also get a full video content with the assurance of minimum quality .Finally aplly this proposal in the building of the intelligent terminal, implement the software design part of the intelligent terminal from the perspective of system ,by grasping the design ideas of intelligent terminal, the functional structure, services speciality of media information service platform and the home user's characteristics, a concrete implementation have raised through the Linux operating system.
