Applies the modern computer technology to electromagnetic simulation, partition the calculation domain in reason and automatically generated grid, reproduced the electromagnetic changes and distributions among the different medias visualized, provide data support and visual support services for the subsequently FDTD analysis and research, has become a research hotspot in calculation of electromagnetic fields. This thesis has researched FDTD grid generation automatically and visualization in the electromagnetic field based on the theory of computer graphics and OpenGL technology, mainly completed work as follows:(1) The basic principles and relevant content of FDTD was researched, applications of FDTD in the related fields was discussed in detail aim at its characteristics;(2) The algorithm of the non-uniform FDTD mesh grid's automatically generated based on the basic requirements of FDTD mesh was researched, an improved version of the algorithm was provided, thereby it can improving the efficiency of the grid generation;(3) The technology of OpenGL consider FDTD mesh graphics features was researched and applied to the mesh graphic design and modeling, an improved hidden-image method of 3D graphics, effectively raising the 3D visualization was provided;(4) On the research of above mentioned theory and related technology, based on Visual Basic 6.0 platform, "A OpenGL-Based Non-uniform FDTD Mesh System in Cylinder Coordinate" has been developed, achieved the pre-designed system functions.At present, the system is running normal, stable performance, it can provide electromagnetic computing and visualization services for FDTD users. The micro-strip band-stop filters in cascade, a micro-strip ring resonator, and a dual-layer cylindrical micro-strip low-pass filter in the thesis indicate that partition accurate, graphic effects, and a high degree of visualization.
