The Universal Serial Bus, as a kind of peripheral bus standard, has won a marketplaceapprove and been popularized promptly with its obvious benefits, such as high speed,robustness, ease-to-use, and low-cost solution. USB has become the most inclined standardfor the interconnection between PC and peripheral devices, such as portable storage devices,digital products and portable communication devices.With the development of USB technology and its prompt popularization in embeddedfield, the application mode of USB has also appeared new change. It has three kinds of modeabout USB's application in embedded system so far: USB Slave, embedded USB Host andembedded USB OTG. USB peripheral devices which work in USB Slave mode have beenused widely and various portable equipments also have adopted USB interfaces. It directlystimulates the interconnection need between these equipments. Recent yeas, embedded USBHost and embedded USB OTG aiming at portable equipment interconnection have become aheat point in the field gradually. The marketplace has been keeping high increasecontinuously.Aiming at USB's embedded application in electronic measurement, the thesis discussedthe three kinds of mode above and their developments comprehensively so that we canintroduce the new progress in USB to practice creatively. Pointed to the Slave mode, wedeveloped USB 2.0 interface card used in storage measurement equipment based on CypressInc.'s CY7C68013A. It raised the data rate and escalated the interface in engineer practicesuccessfully. Modular storage measurement equipment based on embedded USB Hostresolved same problems in traditional equipment creatively that test parameters and memorycapacity can't be changed. At the same time, it structured FAT document system whichrealized data display in the form of document and decreased operation. Based on USB OTG and its application research, we developed a kind of new stored-style hydraulic recorder withOTG. It is universal obviously and suited for same systems.It makes an approach to USB and its application forms in embedded systems in the thesis.Part of achievement is valuable in practice and can be used to the same systems directly.
