With the development of Laser technology, the area of its application is also much more abroad. It comes down to lots of areas such as industry agriculture medical science communication and military. In these areas, especially in communication and military, the laser atmospheric transmission is an important topic and researched by lots of scholarsThis paper is based on the collaborative project between my lab and the Ship Systems Engineering Department. The author mainly studied the theory of laser atmospheric transmission and did the real application during the paper period. The work mainly included several aspects described as below.First, have an acquaintance with the application of laser atmospheric transmission. Then, make a study of the basic theory of laser atmospheric transmission. Analyze the essential comprising of atmosphere. Divide the factors which impact the laser atmospheric transmission into three parts: laser atmospheric attenuation effect (including atmospheric absorption and atmospheric scattering), laser atmospheric turbulence effect, laser atmospheric refraction effect. Build the theoretical model of the laser atmospheric transmission project and analysis the applicability of the theoretical model. The model is based on Lambert-Beer law and combined with other classic theories such as Rayleigh scattering Mie scattering and so on. It starts from the requirements of the project and mainly analyzes the absorption and scattering of laser atmospheric transmission. After the studying of the theories, the author participates to realize the laser atmospheric transmission simulation system based on the theoretical model. The system is developed following the design pattern of software engineering. Use RUP development model to manage the project effectively and exactly. Analyze the system requirements with UML. Design with object-orient method. Write codes with many advanced software techniques such as ADO OpenGL and multithreads.
