MPC8270 belongs to MPC8280 processor series of PowerQUICC II embedded communication microprocessor produced by Freescale Company, which, at present, is widely used in internet and network communication field. This thesis does particular and deeply research on the development of embedded system based on MPC8270, at the same time, according to the characteristics of MPC8270, this thesis also does research on low-power design and applies it into system hardware design.The main contents of this thesis include: Do some research on the configuration of MPC8270 processor and analyze the internal function modules and its composition to make foundation of the research and design that based on MPC8270; Expatiate on the significance, reason and common principle of lower-power research of embedded system. According to the characteristics of MPC8270, the author makes out the low-power design of embedded system based on MPC8270 and chooses the parts for hardware platform; Make the design of MPC8270 embedded system based on the hardware parts and low-power design principle, including outline and detail design; Analyze the VxWorks embedded OS, Board Support Package and boot sequence of the embedded system, and make development of BSP based on MPC8270. Work out the concrete design and realization of hardware platform initialization, driver of serial port and driver of 10/100M Ethernet port. The design of the latter two are lucubrate mainly; Test the hardware platform based on MPC8270, the BSP and the power consuming of the system.
