The reform and opening-up policy embarked from 1978 deconstructs the relationship of the nation and the society. The "separation of enterprise from government administration", "separation of commune management from government administration", and "separation of institution from government administration" mean the setting a limit for the country authority and the form of a pattern of ternary-pattern country-market-society. At present, the cause of Chinese journalism develops rapidly and the market in this field is fiercely competitive. The market survival of the fittest calls for journalism trade organizations of comprehensive service. Yet the current journalism trade organizations in China are far from perfection. Lack of independence, too much government-run flavor, single service function, and poor management of internal mechanism are the main disadvantages. They result in the present situations of bad performance of the Chinese journalism trade organizations, lack of society influence, less enthusiasm of the news units to participate in press conferences, and poor satisfaction of the government. Therefore, the construction reform in this industry is imperative.By methods of literature survey and comparison, this thesis has a deep investigation into the historical background and disadvantages of Chinese journalism trade organizations. Comparing the Chinese journalism trade organizations with those in the West, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the thesis analyzes their success experiences with an aim to put forward some proposals for the reform of Chinese journalism trade organizations. Part One introduces the concept and idea of NGO. Part Two surveys the history and current situation of Chinese journalism trade organizations and points out the necessity and possibility of its reform. Part Three introduces the successful experience of the journalism trade organizations in the developed countries of Europe and America as well as in Taiwan. Part Four puts forward some proposals for the construction reform on the basis of the idea of NGO. Through the study in this paper, the author hopes to offer some references for the research of Chinese journalism trade organizations reform.
