Vision is the most important way to acquire information.In mineral machining, many labour which incudes analysis and judgement, has to be done by vison,for example mineral particle geometry size,shape, corlor, mineral kinds, contant and so on. Vision is seized of a heave position, so if industry intelligent control want to instead of human labour, it needs to study computer vision. Computer vision bases on image process technology, so image process technology is hotspot and focus and is most classical subject in study area. Nowadays new theory and method emerge in endlessly and activity. This reflects the subject is very important on the one hand and on the other hand it shows the subject has enough difficulty and depth. Well, current image process theory and precision, image process speed, reducing noise aspect have many faultinesses, so it needs further development and improvement.This paper is based upon ImageJ software to search kinds of excellent ways to detect image edge with image reducing noise,image enhancement, threshold, image binary, particle analysis and measuring theory. Image process technology is well known to be the best in grain area for its veracity. Proper image process is the key to right result. This paper brings forward four method to process single stone image and man-machine conversation has been programmed by macro language to automate, so reducing man-machine conversation. Every method is easy and speedly, 15 seconds at best. They account for time-consuming problem. The four methods relate to Gaussian blur, FFT, color image edge detecting, mathmatical morphology and image calculator. The last one is a new and simple way advanced by this paper.Describing particle geometrical characteristic include particle size, shape and so on. The particle size or granularity distributing is the most important.It determines granularity machining technics and efficiency, and is a gist of selecting apparatus and process control. Particle size and granularity distributing is an important physics and mechanical capability.A sample exemplify granularity analysis and measure course.This paper measure perimeter, area, circularity, bounding rectangle, feret diameter of a stone image. Consumer can choose granularity equivalent diameter methods by needs. This paper choose feret diameter and average perimeter diameter, meanwhile program to show result summary with a window and display parameters value and distributing with histograms.
