Chinese language is varied and colorful. As a Chinese saying goes, "No gold can be pure and no one can be perfect", people completely understand for the imperfection in modern society. Errors are everywhere in our daily life. For example, some careful audience find an emperor with a bright gold watch when he spoke with righteous indignation in a movie and television programme; there is a Coca-Cola bottle under those ancient soldiers' feet who are fighting the enemy at close quarters with armours and robes. Such examples are legion. Even in the strict editorial and proofreading process, language and word errors and non-standardization make people fume with indignation. Some people in the profession make a joke that without errors there would be no books. Such examples can be found everywhere in the editorial and proofreading process of science and technology journals which are mainly based on academic theory. Owing to the work, I read quite a few journals. No one journal, however, can avoid errors. Some errors result from editor's and proofreader's sense of responsibility; some are from writer's own quality and academic level; and others are from those who are self-opinionated without the standard of norms and code of conduct. For the above-mentioned reasons and situations, I select some fault and non-standardization examples and make simple comments on them in order to attract attention in every mind, and a perfect and unified standard is expected to work out so as to promote the standardization and modernization of languages and words.
