Automatic object detection and tracking in image is the key technology of the satellite tracking system, which need to be solved urgently in the world. It is an active field in computer vision too. In this paper, the theory, algorithm, and experiment of automatic object detection and tracking are studied in depth. we put forward a design project about the motional object recognition and tracking system based on matrix CCD by analyzing the CCD basic theory and working principle of the CCD measurement system.Charge coupled devices (CCD) have such features as self-scanning, high aspect ratio, high sensitivity, compact structure and accurate pitch position which make itself quite competitive in the measurement, especially in the motional object detection.In this paper, the design process of the motional object recognition and tracking system was stated in detail in aspect of the hardware and software. The motion status is sampled by high-speed matrix CCD sensor and then the image information is transferred to the computer. To analyze the image which including the motional object by using image processing method. And the information abstracted by the computer and then outputs to the Single Chip Micyoco to control the steppingmotor to track the object. By using multi-thread treatment and non-blocking communication technology to improve the efficiency of system so that it can meet the command of real-time and fast property.During this research, we build up the experimental system of image measuring which simulate the motion of the stars field in the lab. We complete the software by use the Visual C++ edit environment, and use the Keil C language to design the program of Single Chip Micyoco. We validate the testing algorithm by a series of experiments on this system. Results of the experiments indicate that these target detecting, segmenting and recognizing algorithms are steady and practical to recognize and track the motional object,and it achieves the prospective effect.
