Grind grading is the one of the most crucial part in beneficiation process, which is a important process in the metallurgical industry. The proportion of investment is very large and the production cost is very high for the grind grading process .It has a far-reaching significance to respond to nation call for saving energy emission reduction by improving degree of automation in grind grading process. Grind grading mechanism is complicated; it has lots of influencing factors, for instance ore property, grinding machine structure and grinding operation, etc. Also it carries traits of multivariate, non-linearity, delay and time-varying. How to correctly analysis and control for its process becomes recent focus.In this paper, the ,because the traditional control way can't get appropriate values, the dissertation brings forward two ideas based on the advanced control technique: (1)The power optimization program of grinding machine and Dahlin self-adapting algorithm is used to overcome the disadvantage such as delay and time-varying. On the premise that the ore is supplied correctly, the density of ore pulp is regulated by supplying water at fixed proportion. The result of emulation has indicated that this algorithm not only meets the challenge by overcoming the delay, inertia and time-varying but also improves the robustness of our control system. And also it will work well to increase of efficiency and save the energy. (2)Because the model of process can't be built, the coupling parameters such as level of slag basin, the flow to whirlcone and the density of ore pulp are coordinated by a coordinated control program. The dynamic matrix control(DMC) algorithm regulated the density of ore pulp and the traditional PID controller regulate the flow to whirlcone.The control strategy used in the grading process can tackle the delay and coupling and improve the technic index.The control software (RSView32,RSlogix5000,RSLinx) and matlab make up a platform for emulation programming. All of the program of control algorithm is programmed at VB development environment in the RSView32, and the model is built in the matlab. They communicate each other through the OPC industrial standard interface. The control algorithm used in this subject can meet the challenge for the process. It will work well to improve the processing capacity to ore and to save energy.
