RFID is one of the most important technologies in automation. It is regarded as the most potential technology in the future by the field of high technology. It is used widely in China, such as tracking of product quality and security, warehousing management, retail and supply chain management, air baggage management, automation etc. As the research and use of RFID become more extensive, design of RFID Middleware which is the essential part of RFID application become the hotspot of this field.RFID Middleware can provide real-time and reliable tag information for applications. This can alleviate the burden of application system. Although RFID has been used in many fields, the technology of RFID Middleware is immature and there is no uniform standard. There are some typical technological problems which include the low compatibility of different RFID facilities, unsatisfied management and flitting technology of mass tags, bad data security and low utilization rate of tag memory. This paper develops a suit of universal RFID Middleware to solve these problems.The thesis proposes the concept of RFID Middleware based on bottom communication and develops RFID Middleware based on COM+ (C_RFID). The thesis researches the communication protocols and command format of serial RFID facilities. C_RFID controls and monitors the Reader by sending messages. COM+ is used in distributed framework. Time window method is used to filter the reading events and data. The system uses double deck protection- Reader authorization and tag data encryption to protect the tag information. The thesis improves encryption algorithm and makes the middleware more secure and reliable. C_RFID increased data compression function for the applications which need high capacity tag like aviation logistics and combined transportation. This measure makes the use of tag memory more sufficient and saves the cost.The thesis test C_RFID Middleware in the last part. The test results indicate that C_RFID can work with WMS compatibly. Every function in C_RFID system has been verified and the correctness of reading was 100%. The system alleviate the burden of application system by tag flitting. C_RFID can protect the tag information well. The whole system has good stability and expansibility.
