Nowadays, IPTV video coder and decoder standard becoming a very hot topic. AVS is doubtless the best choice as national audio and video standard.The purpose of this dissertation is tried to implement a real-time IPTV video decoder based on AVS standard. However, all the newest video coder and decoder standard choose complicated arithmetic to improve the performance. Because it is not practical in such condition, optimize the decoder system is necessary.First, this dissertation reseasarches the AVS decoder basic arithmetic from AVS theory and reference code. Conclude the decoder system structure and process. Analyze arithmetic of every module according to the stream flow in system.Second, this dissertation gives the scheme of video decoder system after considering the performance of DM642. Such scheme avoids redundancy operation, design the data structure according to storage sytem and implement parallel process with DMA.Last, this dissertation optimizes the key modules of system by using inline fuction and software pipeline etc. to improve the program executes speed.The result indicates that such AVS decoder system can decode 25 frames per second with CIF fomat video, and the quality is basically satisfied. This system can be used as IPTV video decoder system.
