In the Inertial confinement fusion experiment, it's a key technology how the laser beams to drive the D-T ice layer to ignite a propagating fusion burn. So the targets of high qualities are essential for the ignition in the ICF experiment. This dissertation aims to resolve two problems: the first is how to inspect the target during the assembly, and the second is how to measure the error of the targets and the location error of the capsules after assembling. In the dissertation, a measuring method based on the Machine Vision is put forward, and relevant knowledge and technologies are introduced. This method could fit the particular context of this project well. The common sense has been introduced in the beginning. An overview is given that describes the strategy we took in approaching the problem. In chapter 2 and 3, the mathematic model is built up, the image processing method is designed and the knowledge of vision and movement in the three dimensional space is described, all of which based on the past theoretical work. An experimental measuring system based on machine vision is established in the chapter 4, and test results are described. Then, a new calibration technique for the measuring system is present in the chapter 5, supported by experiment results using real data. The last chapter focuses on the problems and possible improvement of the past research and experiment work.In the dissertation, some new ideas are brought forth:1. A general mathematic model is built up, which could be applied on target of different shapes and size.2. A new calibration method is described, which is particularly fit for the context of micro-target measurement.3. Make some improvement on the traditional edge measuring method, could effectively rise up the precision and efficiency.
