Nanometer titanium dioxide is an important functional semiconductor materials. It has been applied in the field such as electronics, chemical engineering and environment protection. Anatase titanium dioxide has good ability to photocatalysis, however, it is difficult to separate and recycle titanium dioxide powder. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare titanium dioxide in new form. In this dissertation, titanium dioxide film and Fe3+, Cr3+- doped films have been prepared by a new sol-gel method in which ethyl acetoacetate was used as the chelating reagent and drain-coating was performed with self-made equipment. The structure and characteristics of the resulting films were characterized by thermogravimetry (TG), differential thermoanalysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), environmental scanning electron microscope (SEM) and UV-Vis spectra.Titanium dioxide films and its modified films with anatase structure were obtained by the method we developed, and films grew in orientation. In addition, films were anatase form without other crystal structure, which demonstrated that the films with exclusive structure were prepared by the method. For Fe3+- doped titanium dioxide films, when Fe/Ti≤3%, doping of Fe3+ made the XRD diffraction peak weaker and average particle diameter decreased, which proved that it doping can restrain the crystallization of titanium dioxide and favorable to prepare materials with small particle diameter. For Cr3+- doped titanium dioxide films, the corresponding structure and characteristics were also analyzed and tested.
