Recently, with the rapid development of network technology, the application of the Internet has extended to the QoS requirements of multimedia services and real-time business. Business customers always hope that the networks can provide quality assurance services, Operators want to provide different quality of services and different fees according to the users.The existing routing protocols lead to congestion because of the uneven flow distribution, these factors prompted into existing networks to provide different Quality of Service (QoS) network.The thesis studies Network quality of service assurances aimed to the network termination products.firstly, the thesis introduces the system architecture of QoS based on hardware and software. In terms of hardware, the design makes use of chipset ADM6996 to controll chip to handle WAN and LAN port data. Software design is based on the IPQoS, adds Categories, expand the scope of the application of QoS, and eventually establish a QoS implementation of the programme. This thesis adds drive and protocol queues on the basis of original IP QoS queue, adds the application layer and firewall classification. Speed control refers to control speed using linux protocol stack, and queue scheduling algorithm requests the data into various different priority queue. Interface design is a unified set of design development of the interface between the modules, and Let queue, classification, speed control and scheduling algorithm to combine.Finally, according to the programme design, the desin results are tested in the network equipment H100, the H100 test is conducted tests on the IP QoS,and applied to the performance of VOIP as the basis for the improvement of IP QoS. In the end, the test results are summarized and analyzed.
