Design And Realization Of VPN Network Management System For Metro Carrier Ethernet

With the emergence of Metro Carrier Ethernet, Ethernet, as a standard of metro network, is widely used to supply network access service by network providers. As a result, the telecommunication network becomes more and more complex. Aimed at the newly emerging metro carrier Ethernet, it is absolutely necessary to develop the corresponding network management system. VPN, as a kind of technology for network access, is widely used in computer network and telecommunication network. While the traditional VPN network management is just able to supply the service of voice access, and does not satisfy the service development. In order to supply metro carrier Ethernet access service, it is urgently needed to extend the functions of the current VPN network management system or re-develop a new VPN network management system for the network providers.Based on the analysis and study of metro carrier Ethernet, this thesis makes an in-depth study on VPN network management system,designs and implements a VPN server. The main works of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, a simple introduction about the widely used VPN technology, newly emerging technology of metro carrier Ethernet and TMN technology is made. Secondly, from the viewpoints of Metro Carrier Ethernet and telecommunication management network, the requirement analysis and the design of the management services, function moduls and management information model of the VPN network management system for Metro Carrier Ethernet are performed. Thirdly,the management functions,system software architecuture and the system information architecture are designed.This thesis focuses on the research and implementation of the subsystem of the VPN network management system,namely VPN Server. The major functions of the subsystem are determined and the software frame, service logic layer and data access layer of the subsystem are designed. Finally,the deployment and test of the VPN system are discussed.The successful development of the VPN network management system for metro carrier Ethernet designed in this thesis can not only cater the users' need for metro carrier Ethernet access, but also make network providers achieve the goal of appreciation of service.
