With the improvement of train speed, it has great significances to establish Train Network Control System. Simultaneously, Train Network Control System is one of the nine key technologies. It is also very necessary to improve communication network.Firstly, this paper analyses the architecture, function module, the topological structure, transmitting information of vehicular communication network.Then this paper analyses the International Standard of IEC-61375, namely, Train Communication Network (TCN). It is produced by IEC and UIC through ten years hard work, which is used to standardize data communication for vehicle equipment. This paper gives an introduction of layer structure, real-time protocol, data communication and media access modes; and focus on the WTB and MVB, gives a research in detail.Next this paper compares ARCnet with TCN, two vehicular communication networks, and lists each advantage. ARCnet is used in CRH2, TCN is used in CRH1,CRH3 and CRH5, and it analyses topological structure and key techniques.The simulation platform is established based on the Finite State Machine model. By formularizing the TCN, it will be easy to comprehend. Simulation platform demonstrates the dynamic communication actions, and the performances of field-bus protocol can be evaluated on it. From the point of view of node, the sender and receiver state machine model is established.In the end of this paper, the simulation platform is developed in MATLAB/Simulink and the network performances such as messages' speed, load, and transmitting delay time. This paper comprehensively makes an analysis of TCN by using finite state machine and the simulation tool of MATLAB/ Simulink. It is a new approach to investigate field-bus protocol, and it will promote the development of field-bus research.
