Designing And Implementation Of Address Resolution Protocol For IPv6 Over DVB System

DVB(Digital Video Broadcasting)is a set of internationally-acknowledged standards for digital television.IP is the key protocol of Internet,IP over DVB refers to the transmission of IP packets over the DVB networks,which can be used for broadcasting,unicasting and multicasting.IPv6 with 128 bit address can make any equipment connected to Internet network.Building IPv6 satellite- ground integrated Internet Based on IPv6 over DVB will form an IP-all networks,which can integrate data broadcasting with Internet access.It provides customers wide information services.Now IP over DVB is used for broadcasting mainly,for example distance education.The unicasting and multicasting are supposed to be implemented if the DVB is used to build IP-all networks.The destination NPA(Network Point of Attachment) address is indicated by the address resolution protocol for supporting unicasting and multicasting.Now,an address resolution protocol for IPv6 is Neighbor Discovery(ND) protocol.But ND can not be used for DVB unidirectional links.A designing and implementation scheme of address resolution for IPv6 over DVB based on UDLR(Unidirectional Link Routing) tunneling mechanism in a DVB-S hybrid network is presented in this thesis in order to resolve address resolution of IPv6 over DVB.In this thesis,the study of the current situation at home and abroad is expatiated, and then the IPv6 over DVB technology characteristics and the demand of address resolution for IPv6 over DVB are analyzed,Then the technical characteristics of two address resolution protocol ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) and ND in Internet and their no adaptabifity in DVB network are discussed,Finally,two form of DVB-S link is presented.A designing scheme of address resolution for IPv6 over DVB based on UDLR tunneling mechanism in a DVB-S hybrid network is presented after expatiating the UDLR tunneling mechanism used to overcome issues associated with unidirectional link routing in this thesis.Finally,the designing scheme is implemented via the Linux Netfilter and Libnet library,and this designing scheme is partly tested in an experimental environment.
