Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) is one of Process tomography (PT) technique which is based on capacitance sensor, it can provide interior behavior 2/3 dimension visualizing information in process equipment such as closed pipe, vessels and so on in real time. ECT has the advantage of being non-intrusive, fast in response, simple in structure, high safety and low in cost, so it is one technique which has great developing potential in field of petroleum, chemical engineering and so on. Based on the research of 3-D dimension data visualization for ECT, this dissertation investigates the improve method, aiming at the problem of 3-D data visualization for ECT,and achieves the algorithm using the Matlab and OpenGL.In the 3-dimension rebuilding process of ECT, because of the limited data detected by the sensor, and the internal and external influence, the 2-dimension image pix is scarcity, and the quality is comparatively not high enough. At the same time, the 2-dimension image perhaps includes single pix, therefore, the profile can not be traced, and some flow can not be reflected correctly. Firstly, from the perspective of image interpolation, this paper discusses how to complement pix according to the 2-dimension image, and how to improve resolution between slices using interpolation image method based on distance transform; Secondly, B-Spine curve is utilized for fitting and interpolation for the contour of ECT 2-dimension image, so that the tracked contour line is nature and smooth; At last, aiming at the triangular meshes in the 3-D image reconstructed, mesh subdivision is applied to smooth the 3-D surface.We use the methods mentioned above in the analysis of oil-water two-phase flow in circular pip-line. Finish the display of 2-D interpolation image of system, display of fitting contour and simulation of mesh subdivision of 3-D image. The simulator result indicates that these methods improve the 3-D image rebuilding effect so as to provide effective and visual data for industrial measure and decision of control.
