Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Technology has become the preferred modulation technology in Broad Band Power Line Communication systems for its good anti-multipath performance and higher utilization of the frequency spectrum. Low-voltage Power Line Communication channel characteristics are firstly introduced in the thesis, then OFDM baseband processor algorithm, framework and specific achievements are researched deeply. In addition, OFDM baseband processor in the Register-Transfer Layer (RTL) is completely designed and its achievement in the FPGA.The processor works well not only in the simulation of functions and back-end timing but also in the downloading test. In addition to fulfilling the requirements of performances, optimizations of ultimate-chips physical realization are focused on in the whole framework and specific detail descriptions of the thesis, to improve the pace of work and reduce the consumption of hardware resources. Performances of the system are analysed by the simulation tool-SIMULINK, verifying the validity of the system design.
