The number of TV programs transferred to a TV station may exceed one hundred. It is a very important and hard task to perform realtime monitoring of the TV signals to protect the TV station' s broadcasting from interruption, intervention and disturbance.With the rapid technological innovation in electronics and computer science, the updating of broadcast and television equipment is sped up。In this thesis a system for TV signal monitoring and alarming is developed, the system uses digital signal and image processing to monitor the transmission and reception of TV signals in order to effectively protect the TV programs from failure and illegal intervention. The system is also equipped with the functions such as simultaneous multiple signal display, phonetical alarming, hardisk recording and remote accessing etc.In the design FPGA is used to test the synchronization of TV signals, and digital image analysis is used to check the content of TV image, the system can perform automatic signal switching and alarming as soon as abnormality in synchronization or TV logo is detected. In the thesis the FPGA design for realtime 32-64 channels TV signals' synchronization detection is introduced in form of software module and hardware circuit . A method that performs TV logo' primary template creation using image cutting, dynamic template updating, as well as the matching test between the template and the received TV logoes is also presented in the thesis.The application software development is under Windows and on the platform of VC++6.0, In the FPGA development the circuit description is performed by using Verilog HDL, and the configuration, simulation, synthesis, download are performed with Xilinx ISE9.1 and ModelSim6.2.Experimental results obtained on a prototype system verify that the designed system is applicable.
