Superluminesent diode (SLD) is used as the light source of interferometric fiber opticgyroscope(IFOG)currently.ThestabilityofSLD has vital effect ontheperformanceof FOG,and the performance of the SLD is affected a lot by the driving current passing it and thecircumstancetemperature. Therefore, the stability of the driving current and the precision ofthetemperaturecontrolshouldbeimprovedintheSLDcontrolsystem.Kinds of control method of SLD have been analyzed in this paper, and a precise controlsystemofSLDhasbeendesigned.High-precisiontemperaturecontrolisatechnicaldifficulty,sothearithmeticoftheconstant-temperaturecontrolhasbeenresearchedandsimulated.The MCU --SPMC752413Ais the core of this control and test system. The controller ofthe SLD includes two parts: the part of driving and the part of constant temperature control.The part of driving includes constant current driving and constant power driving. ThermalElectronic Cooler is taken to carry on the constant temperature control as the performancepiece. When the direct current passes the TEC, it can make cold or heat by changing thedirection and the magnitude of the driving current through the TEC. PID (Proportion,Integrator,Differentiator) control technic has been chosen to reduce the static error andimprovethecontrolaccuracy.The research achievements in this paper lie in: according to the characters of the SLDlight source, we have designed a kind of practical SLD controller, and its partial technicalindexes reach the level of the same kind of product. The system can be used in test andcontrol system of SLD, mid-power semiconductor diode system and can be used to test thestabilityofSLD.
