Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL, WS-BPEL, or BPEL4WS) is the new standard for defining business processes with composition of services. It is the cornerstone of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). SOAP based web service can be orchestrated and composited according to BPEL4WS. As Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is becoming more and more popular in Enterprise, BPEL4WS, which is associated with business process, will play an important role in the SOA.However, most of the popular BPEL4WS development environments are desktop based application. It is very difficult whether to establish the development envrionment or to deploy the BPEL4WS process to the runtime, which is a very huge technical obstacle for non tech savvy business people to design a BPEL4WS process to implement the new business process. Besides, it is hard to share the developed BPEL4WS process in the desktop environment. To solve the above problems, this paper utilizes RIA (Rich Internet Application) technoloy such as Flex to develop a browser based BPEL4WS development environment. By using rich browser client technology, users can develop BPEL4WS in the browser and the browser based client implements the drag and drop operation, which will give users a friendly user experience in the browser based application. Besides, the system integrates several modules in the backend, such as BPEL4WS engine, which help the users deploy and run the BPEL4WS process easily and convinently. The whole system reduces the difficulties of development and deployment of the BPEL4W, engaging more non tech savvy business people to the BPEL4WS development. And with the help of the application, we can make the service reuse and business process reuse a reality.
