Research Of Automatic Curve-outline Generation And Transformation System For Jiaguwen

Jiaguwen is the most antiquated and rather mature character system which has been found so far in China, which has great important research value and cultural relic protection value. Nowadays, Jiaguwen is attracting more and more attentions. It is called"Jiagu science"which research object is Jiaguwen. And it has been a branch science of archaeology. At the same time, with the development of information technology, people get used to work and study with computer and web. So it becomes a research issue to digitize Jiaguwen. Then Jiaguwen can be displayed and processed in computer conveniently.However Jiaguwen is different from modern Chinese characters. It can't show strokes and its structure is not regular, now it can't be effectively processed in computer. So research and spread of Jiaguwen is more difficult. Based on the related technology both at home and abroad, this paper proposes an automatic curve-outline generation system for Jiaguwen. Firstly, the method of automatic quadratic Bezier-Curved outline generation is presented. And then C-Bezier curve is used to describe Jiaguwen. The shape control parameterαcan transform Jiaguwen font. In order to enhance dynamic transformation effect, Fourier progression function is used to describe Jiaguwen outline font. The later two methods belong to dynamic font technology. Finally, an automatic curve-outline generation method for YUANTOUTI typeface Jiaguwen is presented. This method adopts a thinning algorithm which is well fit to images with block characteristic. And based on the extracted font skeletons, the method uses similarity algorithm to generate outlines and append YUANTOU to form a YUANTOUTI typeface font.Experiments show the above proposed method can generate Jiaguwen outline font exactly. And the transformation effect is good. The generated YUANTOUTI typeface Jiaguwen font obeys YUANTOUTI typeface regulation. And the method can generate YUANTOUTI Jiaguwen font with various widths conveniently. Experiments show that the method is feasible. The method can fill font and change font width conveniently. And compared to handcraft mode, the automatic generation method saves cost greatly and enhances efficiency greatly.
