In 1999, China's population over the age of 60 reached 132 million, accountingfor 10.3% of the total. According to UNESCO on the definition of an aging society,"One country or region of the population over the age of 60 countries or regionsaccounted for the total population of 10% or more, or a country or a region of thepopulation aged over 65 countries or regions accounted for the total population of 7per cent or more, then The countries or regions entered the ageing society. "Clearly,China has entered the ageing of the country. Television audience as the largest numberof contemporary society, the most extensive coverage of the mass media tools, a largenumber of elderly audience concerned groups are something for them.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part of the older TV features and functions are described.The second part of the television audience older were analyzed. Including thenumber of the audience, as well as the audience's physical condition, psychologicalcharacteristics and the audience's viewing behavior, and so the analysis.The third part of the older TV programs and the status of the problems focus onthe analysis and study.
