The coking process is complex and controlled by many equipments, which distribute widely, and its work condition is rather bad. Traditional monitoring and modulation are done by locale workers, that neither is advantaged to safety, nor accords with the development tendency of modern corporation, but costs a lot of manpower. With the development of modern industrial automation systems, the automation technology based on the computer is applied more and more widely, and gradually applied to the coking industry.Based on modern advanced computer technology, signal process,measure, communication, CRT, graph display and man-machine alternate technology, combining with practical control need and various field instrumentation of coking process, a DCS control system of DongLing's 700,000 tons coking project is designed and realized in this paper. This system takes the JX-300X DCS of the Zhejiang university as its hardware platform, and uses some system configuration software, such as Sckey(basic configuration software),MfcDraw(flow chart making software),SCX(program compiler software),Sprt(chart making software) and SCFBD(function block making software) etc. Following fuctions, such as process monitoring,parameter modulating,interlock control,grouping control,fault diagnosis, data tendency analysis and safe entry etc, are realized. In order to enhance system dependability, redundancy design method is used for some departments such as communication modules, I/O modules. The system power supply, anti-jamming technology and the engineering confirm method for adjusting loop PID parameters are also researched in this paper. The common faults reason in DCS system is analyzed and the fault diagnosis programme is accomplished. The monitoring precision and the maintain capability are improved obviously.The DongLing's 700,000 tons coking system has been used for more one year. The factual run shows that this DCS system is advanced and system integration and the software programme is successful. This DCS system has lots of excellent characters such as good man-machine alternating interface, reasonable layout, simple operation. The automation control is used with the ratio more 90 percent in the whole produce process, which reduces evidently the labor intensity of operator and improved obviously the work condition. The system's performance is good. This DCS system has achieved an advanced level among the domestic similar system.
