In recent years, the application of the high precision guidance weapons in military affairs has been paid wide attention and using scene matching in terminal guidance is a considerable means in improving the precision of the weapons. In terminal guidance system, the registration method is crucial to the speediness and precision. Focusing on the anti-noise ability and the speediness and precision, Normalized Production Correlation (NPROD algorithm) and Normalized intensity combination (NIC algorithm) algorithm are studied. Then based on the disadvantages of the two algorithms, the improved methods are presented.The paper is mainly concerned with the follows:First, the whole terminal guidance system based on scene-match is introduced. Then the basic theory of scene matching orientation is presented. After that, the scene matching algorithm is categorized into two classes based on its four elements. Advantages and disadvantages of different classes are studied, and NPROD algorithm and NIC algorithm which belong to region-intensity-correlation-based algorithm are chosen for research. Finally the main factors that influence the performance of the region-intensity-correlation-based algorithm are studied.Second, NPROD algorithm and NIC algorithm are widely studied in the paper. Comparing with Sequential Similarity Detection Algorithm (SSDA algorithm), a lot of experiments are made to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the two algorithms.Third, based on the disadvantages of the original NPROD algorithm, the paper presents two improving schemes, one of which is extracting the mean-value and the other is partitioning the real-time-image. By using the two schemes, the NPROD algorithm is improved. The paper gives the flow of the algorithms, and proves that the improved method can fetch up the disadvantage of the original algorithm.Fourth, the continuum wavelet transform, discrete wavelet transform, and decomposing image by wavelet are studied. The paper designed a layered-searching NIC algorithm based on wavelet analysis. The flow and realization of the algorithm were presented. At last, some simulation experiments are conducted, the results shows that the layered-searching method based on wavelet analysis can speed the matching process obviously, comparing with the original NIC algorithm.The overall study is reviewed and the future work is presented at the end of the thesis.
