There are two kinds of methods on anti-shock for mobile hard disk, which are active anti-shock and passive anti-shock. Active anti-shock technology is used in low frequency anti-shock and high acceleration field, but it is very complex and expensive, because it needs acceleration sensor and control circuit, it is only used on military security aspect. Comparing with it, passive anti-shock technology has good anti-shock performance, simple structure and cheaper, so it is suit to be applied to normal users. In this paper, a new anti-shock mobile hard disk based on subminiature air chamber technology is presented, theoretical and experimental research is applied on it.A new anti-shock mobile hard disk is developed, and a hard disk body is hanged inside it, which keeps some distance from the crust. Each surface of the hard disk body is connected with crust by bracket, so when the mobile hard disk falls on the floor in any situation, it can be protected perfectly. According to the conservation of energy, deformation energy of the hard disk body is analyzed during the falling process, two formulas for deformation energy of hard disk body are established, one is before the collision, the other is after, then compare the two formulas and analyze them. Based on relationship of stress and strain on elastic theory, formulas for counting deformation energy of hard disk body are established when the shake is occurred. According to the needs of experiment and research, a simple deformation energy formula is developed.A 2.5 inch aluminous note book hard disk body model is manufactured, with the same shape and size of the real one. Experiments are applied on the normal mobile disk and the anti-shock mobile disk using a new experimental equipment which can measure the portrait strain value respectively, relationship between strain value and fall height is obtained. After that, strain value is put into the foregoing simple deformation energy formula, the result proves that the anti-shock performance of the anti-shock mobile hard disk is better than the normal one.
