With the rapid development of the technology on computer and network communication, UPS(Uninterruptible Power System)is more and more widely used. However, the traditional UPS monitor control system can't satisfy the requirement of contemporary information systems. There are many problems with the traditional managed models, such as bad cross-platform, uncommon use, unfriendly interface, complex implementation, difficult maintenance and low efficiency. As UPS generally scattered in different geographical location, even if a smart card with UPS, we can only control one by one, leading to very high maintenance costs and waste a lot of manpower, material and financial resources. So, it is a valuable subject to research how we can uniformly manage the devices. The purpose of the dissertation is that realize effective and centralized management about UPS. The managers can follow the states of the UPS in the network, and once find some UPS abnormal, alarm immediately in order to promise UPS is safe, reliable and effective.APC UPS becomes the most favored products for computer makers and users of information systems. In order to content enterprise's need with UPS, improve manageability and availability of UPS, the APC Company makes the solution about centralized management system of UPS network. The paper takes the project of "UPS Manager of APC Company" as the background. The centralized management system takes the B/S framework and adopts J2EE technology, basically resolves the problems of special using, complexity, the interface between human and machine and webbing. The system realizes an open and cross-platform management frame, provides friendly and remotely centralized management with platform-independent at any time and anyway.This system uses the object-oriented software design patterns. It is based on J2EE, with Spring framework, and adopts SNMP protocol, using the MVC three-tier architecture of Java Web programming. The fusion design pattern utilizes JavaBean, adopts the MySQL database and Scheduling work which is given by Quartz OpenSymphony project. It uses MyEclipse as the development platform to develop the UPS Management system and realizes the centralized monitor and management in the network.With the system, managers can expediently control and manage UPS remotely through Web Browser and realize the function of centralized management and maintenance. So that it can enhance the monitoring, management and maintenance efficiency of the UPS equipment. It is tested that the UPS Manager system has many merits such as cross-platform, common use and friendly interface. It has been used in Gas stations of Oil field. It works well to manage and monitor UPS around 100 km of the Gas stations, and is proved the system is valuable.
