Digital watermark is one of the hotspot technologies in research area of Authority Protection and Information Safety. It has the advantages of robustness and frangibility and it can be embedded into text, image, audio, video and software to protect the authority.Contents about the watermarking were introduced in the first and second part of this paper, including the background, significance, basic conception, characteristic, application and so on.The independent component analysis (ICA) was introduced in the third part of this paper. The basic ICA model, the constrained ICA model and the process of getting the independent components were explained in detail in this part. The simulation proves the effect of the method. Then it was usefulness in the field of watermarking and the corresponding algorithm was put forward.Finally the comparative experiments of compression attack and noise addition attack were carried out. The experimental result showed that this scheme has good performance. This is robust to JPEG compression and other common image processing, including Gaussian nosing, and so on. This scheme can also be used in sound and video watermarking.
