With the popularization of Internet and the rapid development of communication technology, digital media including image, audio and video, and so forth, is becoming more and more active and it is being easier for people to access to multimedia data. It is convenient for the legal customers, whereas it provides the chance to infringe the copyright such as replicate, unauthorized access, tamper and distribute for various illegal purposes. How to effectively protect the copyright of multimedia data in an open network environment becomes an urgent issue. So the technique of digital watermark is being developed under this circumstance and has been the main method of multimedia copyright protection. It is to embed the copyright information, according to some particular algorithm, into digital original signal, such as image, audio, video, and the like, to realize the copyright protection and authentication. And it has been the focus in the field of multimedia signal processing as an important branch of the information security technology. This thesis analyzes and concludes the similarity both in digital watermarking and Independent Component Analysis(ICA). Based on its features, the image/video watermarking is analyzed and the results of some statistical tests are summarized. The main contribution includes the following parts:1. As the digital signatures has a better performance on describing the image uniquely, independent features of a picture are obtained based on ICA, also a digital signature algorithm based on ICA is proposed in the thesis, and then an image watermarking scheme based on the digital signature is proposed. The digital signature is robust against most of the common attacks on the image and can specially resist copy attack.2. A blind image watermarking scheme based on image independent block feature is proposed. The scheme introduces the scrambling technology of the image, which can improve the imperceptibility. According to the similarity both in aliasing /separation of signal of the ICA model and the embeding/extraction process in the watermarking system, the scrambling image is embeded into the wavelet domain with the linear supraposition. The watermark is extracted by ICA when detection.3. A blind video watermarking scheme based on independent feature of consecutive frames is proposed. The first scheme: In the video domain, ICA is used to extract dynamic component and static component of the consecutive frames, the watermark is embeded into the dynamic one. The second scheme:residual part is obtained by subtracting consecutive frames, the watermark is embeded into the residual part. The simulations show that the imperceptibility and robustness are good.4. A video watermarking based on H.264 coding standard is presented. Previous video watermark methods are summarized in this section, on that basis, the thesis proposes a novel scheme based on H.264 coding standard. The proper DCT coefficients are selected in this paper and coefficient replacement is used in the embedding scheme. The simulations show effectiveness of the method. As a new type of application technology, digital watermarking is still an imperfect science. There are still many problems needing urgent solutions and does not touch on some topic in the development. It is necessary to form a set of theory, the standard of the watermarking technology, performance evaluation of watermarking system and the application of system. So wo need learn nutrients from the relevant disciplines. At the last part of this thesis, the development trends and prospects of this field are proposed and analyzed.
