| WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is one important communication protocol of the BWAMAN (Broadband Wireless Access Metropolitan Area Network), which is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard. It is also a new kind of Air Interface Standards for microwave and millimeter-wave. OFDM is used in the WiMAX baseband system due to its advantages of the high spectrum efficiency, great ability of eliminating muti-path interference and frequency selective fading, etc. But it also has some insufficiencies, such as peak average power quite big, the channel estimate algorithm complicated and so on. The peak average power is the OFDM's fatal insufficiency.Based on the baseband transmitter of the WiMAX system, a method—Tone Reservation which is used to reduce PAPR in WiMAX baseband processing is introduced in this paper. In this method, the reserved sub-carrier of the OFDM is adopted to improve PAPR. Also this paper has carried on the detail explanation of the design with FPGA and the realization in reducing PAPR. Additionally, the reducing PAPR OFDM link simulation platform based on the MATLAB language is built. In order to obtain the best option in OFDM systems for reducing PAPR, the impact of the performance of the reducing PAPR key parameters are compared. |
