In process industry, the effective process monitoring and quality control are the key to ensure safety, enhance product quality and economy benefit. Statistical process monitoring is a data-driven method, which is based on multivariate statistical methodologies for online process malfunctions detection and diagnosis through analysis and interpretation of the collected measurements. The information extracted from process data could reflect the operating status of the process at any time and guarantee the efficient, safe and product quality of the process. Meanwhile, in modern industrial process, many variables are difficult to be measured on-line, which restricts the development of the process industry. Soft sensing technology can predict these variables that cannot be directly measured by the variables that can be directly measured and some other parameters, which will support process control, quality control, process management and decision, and so on.The statistical process monitoring software and soft sensing software are developed from the aspects of research and development, basing on Visual C++, using the technologies of MATLAB COM, ADO, XML and so on. The primary coverage of this paper as follows,1. The manufacturing technique and application of methanol, as well as the implemental background of the software is introduced.2. The software architecture, which is used to research and develop the statistical process monitoring software and soft sensing software, is introduced. The technologies of MATLAB COM, ADO and XML that is used in developing the statistical process monitoring software and soft sensing softwar, as well as the installation and operation of the statistical process monitoring software and soft sensing softwar are introduced.3. The theory of statistical process monitoring are analyzed. According to the characteristic and techniques of the methanol rectify process in Shanghai coking and chemical corporation, statistical process monitoring software is used in the methanol rectify process to statistical process monitor such process.4. The theory of soft sensing technology are analyzed. According to the characteristic and techniques of the methanol rectify process in Shanghai coking and chemical corporation, soft sensing software is used in the methanol rectify process to predict the consistency of methanol S2, which is one of the important quality parameters.5. Finally give out the summary and outlook of the thesis.
