With the advent of information society, fingerprint-based identification is adopted widely .Fingerprint acquisition as an important process of fingerprint identification system has been focused more and more.This paper designs Fingerprint acquisition card based on FPGA.In the part of hardware design, chips are chosen, the circuit protel design is drawn.In the part of software design, modules are realized based on VHDL, the function and time simulations are finished in QuartusII. Extreme middle filtter arithmetic and speed are also improved.The former fingerprint acquisition cards were always based on single chip or DSP, so the card was heavy,the speed was slow and it was difficult to control. While in the dissertation, FPGA is used, all the functions are realized in the FPGA, except SRAM, so the card is light,the speed is quick, and then fingerprint filter is realized in the card.
