Driven by the need for lightweight head-mounted displays,the passage present the concept of head-mounted projective display(HMPD).An HMPD consist of a pair of miniature projective lenses,beam splitters,and miniature displays mounted on the helmet and retro-reflective sheeting materials placed in the enviroment.In HMPD's, a pair of miniature lens is used instead of the eyepiece that is found in conventional HMD. Furthermore a retroreflective screen is used in HMPD. The main advantages of PD are that it is easier to correct off- axis aberration. The characteristic of retroreflective material is a light which shots into the material surface return by the original road and directly go in the eye which need no eyepiece . HMPD is a big breakthrough compare of the traditional helmet, representing the trend of the helmet display.In this passage, the work principle and the configuration of Head-Mounted Projective Displays (HMPD) were discussed, the properties of retroreflective materials were analyzed,at last, projective objective with a diffractive surface can be used in projective system was designed.
