The Research Of Object Recognition And Tracking On Image Processing

The target recognition and tracking technique is widely applied to many fields such as industries, navigation, weapon controlling and guiding and so on. Its application in military field has become the research hotspot. The stability of target tracking is the most important in military applications.This article chooses the moving object as the target. It puts forward a methodwhich carry out image recognition and tracking on moving object in the simplebackground and makes comparison and study on algorithm of object recognition andtracking. It makes progress on algorithm of image preprocessing, imagesegmentation, feature extracting, image recognition, tracking and predicting. During image recognition, it improves thetraditional filter algorithm using correlative information between adjacent windows,and enhances real-time property. What's more, this article combines Otsu and self-adaptive threshold segmentation and apply it to image segmentation, then gets better effect. Last with the poid to track the object. To further improve the target tracking speed and stability, the article uses the window tracking method and the target movement estimation method to forecast target location, and adopts the reliable tracking policy. These methods successfully save the tracking time and improve tracking accuracy. In this way, we can track the object steadily, even when the target is sheltered by the barrier or disturbed by noises.The recognition and tracking algorithm does work successfully on the tracking system based on PC platform. During the recognition and tracking procedure, the system adjusts the platform's direction according to target image location, and keeps the target image around the center of the CCDs'vision fields.
