Transverse effect plays an important role in the instability of lasers. The result of the spatiotemporal dynamics, low threshold instability and pattern dynamics of homogeneously broadened lasers are presented from 1980s by L.A.Lugiato etc and laser patterns are studied experimentally.It is proved that inhomogeneously broadened lasers are different from homogeneously broadened ones either in theory or experiment, so the spatiotemporal dynamics will be different. Based on the research on the homogeneously broadened laser, the model of the spatiotemporal dynamics of inhomogeneously broadened lasers is set up and the transverse instability and the instability threshold is analyzed in this thesis.Moreover, the dynamical transverse patterns which appear in He-Ne laser is analyzed. The spatiotemporal dynamics of inhomogeneously broadened lasers is discussed initially by changing Fresnel number. |
